Petro Rabigh is seeking a qualified Safety Engineer to join the Field Safety Section-I, contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety management systems in line with international standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Review and develop Safety Management System General Instructions (SMS G.Is) and ensure implementation across all PRC departments.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with international standards (OHSAS 18001, OSHA).
• Deliver awareness sessions on safety management systems to company organizations.
• Participate in Risk Assessments, PHAs, PSSRs, critical JSAs, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• Perform weekly and monthly site safety inspections and issue daily inspection reports with observations and status updates.
• Participate in safety campaigns, management walk-throughs, internal/external audits, insurance surveys, and special reviews.
• Provide technical support by participating in DHSSEC, FHSSEC, PSSR, MCC, and risk assessment activities.
• Support incident analysis and investigations, including process incidents and near misses, applying root cause analysis.
• Assist departments in developing Safety KPIs, annual goals, and dashboards for performance monitoring.
• Develop safety rules, policies, and educational programs in compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
• Review international safety standards and ensure compliance with PRC SMS.
Qualifications & Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5–12 years of experience in safety engineering for oil and petrochemical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of international Safety Management Systems and applications (Incident Investigation, MOC, PHA, etc.).
• Expertise in fire and safety engineering standards (HCIS-SAF, NFPA, API, IBC, etc.).
• Professional certifications such as CSP, NEBOSH, CFPS or equivalent.
Required Skills:
• Strong analytical skills for incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
• Proficiency in safety management software and systems.
