Specialist Engineer, Instrument (POL I&II)
Job Purpose:
This job under the department of Technical Support Services (TSD). And the department TSD provides day-to-day “facility” engineering support for plant operation as well as provides high-level technical support to chronic facility failure issues related to Mechanical, Instrument, DCS & SIS. TSD is custodian of PRC Engineering standards, documents, and recommendation tracking.
In general, Specialist Engineer, Instrument (POL I&II) position is to Maintain and improve the manufacturing facilities. Supervise and lead a team of engineers, specialist, senior supervisors, inspection leaders, inspection coordinators, QC inspectors, PM administrators, material controller and programmers in order to provide engineering support to operations, in compliance with safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Oversee the technical support management of all maintenance, projects & improvement-related activities in an
assigned section or field.
2. COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT: Review and consolidate technical documentation and evaluate the undertaking of regular audits of
Engineering support jobs to ensure compliance with international Engineering standards.
3. ENGINEERING PROCEDURES: Review and consolidate engineering procedures, supervise the implementation of same procedures
within plant equipment operation limits to prevent miss-operations and human errors in daily plant operations.
4. COST AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT: Ensure assigned section's engineering tasks meet corporate safety and environmental policy and
standards. Also, implement cost saving activities as per section's cost saving plan.
5. PLANT ENGINEERING SUPPORT: Improve the manufacturing facilities for more safety and competitive plants and keep the
manufacturing facilities in a safe and good condition.
6. GENERAL TASK: Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the SH.
7. PM OPTIMIZATION /CONTROL: Perform PM optimization and control duties as designated by the SH - Instrumentation and Control.
Education & Minimum Requirements:
1. First degree in engineering or relevant science major.
2. Technical experienced in engineering in refinery or petrochemical.
3. Demonstrated specialty and expertise and records on related field of work.
4. Knowledge of process & operations, maintenance & engineering practices in refinery or petrochemical plants.
5. Technical expert level knowledge to review & guide the team for Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Studies, SIL Assessment & Validation.
6. Review & guide the team to optimize PM Program.
