Safety Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly and monthly safety inspection by visiting the plant areas and check all maintenance, operation and contractor activities to insure the implementation of all safety instructions and provide the daily safety inspection report including the safety observations with its status. Take part in the “On-Call Duty”. Participate in Safety Campaigns Activities
- Initiate, plan and conduct the special safety inspection and develop safety reports & recommendations as required to mitigate the risk
- Participate in various levels of Internal Safety Audits, External Safety Audits, Insurance surveys, Management Walk through, Special Reviews and prepare reports whenever required.
- Provide technical consultancy to PR departments by participating in DSCM, FSCM, PSSR, MCC, QMSR and Risk Assessments as required by Corporate Risk Management Standard.
- Participate & provide support in incident analysis, incident investigation, including process incidents, near miss as required. Review and follow up CSMS SAP System. Advise on verification of COCs whenever required.
- Support PR Departments for establishing and implementing the Safety KPIs, Annual Safety Goals and Objectives. Provide safety statistics of the Section / Department, prepare dashboard for KPIs. Attend Functional and Departmental Safety Committee Meetings
- Participates in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned safety management programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results.
- Develop safety rules and policies in compliance with legal requirements, industry standards and best practice and once approved, communicate to maintenance and operations personnel to ensure that they are aware of the company safety standards
- Develops and promotes on- off-job safety education material and programs for all Company employees.
- Develops and recommends safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the Company.
- Review international Safety Management System standards and ensure compliance of PRC CSMS
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Safety Manager, Section Heads, and Senior engineer
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in engineering
- 5-12 years of experience in the field of safety engineering
- Professional certification in a field related to loss prevention such as CSP, NEBOSH, CFPS,…etc.
- Experience in Safety Management System International Standards
- Experience in Safety Management applications such as Incident Investigation, MOC, PHA,…etc.
- Expertise in fire and safety engineering standards such as HCIS-SAF, NFPA, API, IBC,…etc.
