Furnace Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate as a part of Energy team to take care of large number of furnaces operation monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting,energy balance, energy efficiency, inspection, furnaces insulation, burners, design review. Support to field operation team for furnaces inspection, operation, optimization, T&I and training. Generate Furnaces Energy reports and other Process Excellence & department tasks to achieve Process Engineering Department business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Monitor Furnaces Dashboard on Pl Vision and Energy Software (VM) for all the PRC
Evaluate, select, specify and engineer fired equipment packages suitable for design needs for reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operation.
Conduct simple and complex analyses related to the design, specification, and applications engineering tasks associated with fired equipment such as Boiler and Furnaces …etc.
Select and implement appropriate designs for fired equipment.
Perform field troubleshooting & technical assessment for Fired Equipment (like Boiler & Furnaces)
Propose required actions to Energy Team
Conduct regular site visits to improve furnaces performance with safe operation
Submit site visit reports to Energy Team leader
Educate operation team for optimization and safe operation
Perform investigations of fired equipment failures to identify root cause and to prevent reoccurrence of such failures
Attend energy meetings on furnaces subject
Propose long term improvement steps
Calculate the remaining life of heater tubes and provide a safe and optimized tube replacement schedule.
Participate in implementation of modification, T&I and shutdown inspection etc.
Develop repair procedures as required.
Review detailed drawings and material specification as requested.
Participate in HAZOP Studies review.
Provide full site support related to furnaces subject
Provide training/awareness sessions to Operation and PED
Benchmarking with other peers national & international
Propose innovative ideas for improving Furnaces performance and review furnaces design for high Energy efficiency
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Group Leader and PED Manager.
Minimum Requirements:

Education:-
Chemical/Mechanical/Energy Engineering - Advanced Furnaces Operational / Optimization & Design Trainings/ knowledge/Certification
- Experience/Specific Knowledge:-
Minimum 10 Years practical experience of Furnaces Operation, safety, optimization
Awareness on International standards & best practices
Understanding on Furnaces design, datasheets, P&IDs, PFDs, Instrumentation control, SIS and SIL
Capable to deliver training in person, virtual and at Job site to Operation Staff
Knowledge of computer, Microsoft office (excel), Simulation, PI Vision etc.
Effective communication in English and Arabic (preferably), ability to multi task, time management.
Awareness about ISO 50001 certification (preferably)
HAZOP, RCA-Root Cause Analysis Certification (preferably)
Understanding of Refractory design and repair is desirable.
